Indivan 400mg belongs to a class of medications called retroviral protease inhibitors. It works by blocking the activity of an enzyme protease which results in formation of defective viruses and decreases the viral load in body. It also lowers the risk of getting illness related to HIV and improves immunity.

MEDICINE USES :

Cipla Indinavir is a protease (PRO-tee-ayz) inhibitor antiviral medicine that prevents human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cells from multiplying in your body.It is used to treat HIV, which causes the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). It is not a cure for HIV or AIDS.

INDINAVIR SIDE EFFECTS :

stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea; indigestion, heartburn; changes in appetite; headache, dizziness, feeling weak or tired; back pain; rash, itching, dry skin; altered sense of taste;
cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat;

Call your doctor at once if you have :

    signs of a new infection–fever, night sweats, swollen glands, mouth sores, diarrhea, stomach pain, weight loss;
    chest pain (especially when you breathe), dry cough, wheezing, feeling short of breath; cold sores, sores on your genital or anal area;
    rapid heart rate, feeling anxious or irritable, weakness or prickly feeling, problems with balance or eye movement;
    high blood sugar–increased thirst, increased urination, hunger, dry mouth, fruity breath odor, drowsiness, dry skin, blurred vision, weight loss;
    liver problems–nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, tired feeling, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);

INDIVAN INDINAVIR TABLETS Precautions :

    Indivan is not a cure for HIV infection. Patients may still get illnesses and infections associated with HIV. Remain under the care of your doctor.
    Indivan may improve immune system function. This may reveal hidden infections in some patients. Tell your doctor right away if you notice symptoms of infection (eg, fever, sore throat, weakness, cough, shortness of breath) after you start this medicine.
    Indivan may raise your blood sugar. High blood sugar may make you feel confused, drowsy, or thirsty. It can also make you flush, breathe faster, or have a fruit-like breath odor. If these symptoms occur, tell your doctor right away.
    Diabetes patients – Check blood sugar levels closely. Ask your doctor before you change the dose of your diabetes medicine.
    Hemophilia patients – Some people with hemophilia have developed increased bleeding while taking protease inhibitors, such as Indinavir. Report all bleeding episodes to your doctor.
    Lab tests, including liver function, cholesterol, complete blood cell counts, and CD4 counts, may be performed while you use Indinavir. These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
    PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Indinavir while you are pregnant. Mothers infected with HIV should not breast-feed. There is a risk of passing the HIV infection or Indinavir to the baby. It is not known if this medicine is found in breast milk.

DRUG INTERACTIONS :

Many other prescription and nonprescription medicines (eg, used for aches or pain, allergies, asthma or other lung or breathing problems, blood thinning, blood vessel problems, cancer, depression or other mental or mood problems, diabetes, erectile dysfunction, gout, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, HIV infection, immune suppression, infections, inflammation, insomnia, irregular heartbeat or other heart problems, migraine headaches), multivitamin products, and herbal or dietary supplements may interact with Indinavir. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure if any of your medicines might interact with Indinavir

Dolutegravir belongs to a class of drugs known as integrase inhibitors. It blocks the virus from growing and infecting more cells.

Dolutegravir is used with other HIV medications to help control HIV infection. It helps to decrease the amount of HIV in your body so your immune system can work better.

What Are The Possible Side-effects Of Instgra 50 mg Tablets?

Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, throat, or tongue; unusual hoarseness); change in the amount of urine produced; fever, chills, or persistent sore throat; mouth sores or blisters; muscle or joint aches; redness or swelling of the eyes; shortness of breath; symptoms of liver problems (eg, dark urine, loss of appetite, pale stools, severe or persistent nausea or vomiting, stomach pain, yellowing of the skin or eyes).

• Do not change your dose or stop taking Dolutegravir or any other medicine for HIV without checking with your doctor.
• Lab tests, including complete blood cell counts and liver function, may be performed while you take Dolutegravir.
• PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: Dolutegravir may cause harm to the fetus. Do not breast-feed while taking Dolutegravir.
