WHAT IS LORTINIB TABLETS?

Lortinib is a cancer medicine that interferes with the growth of cancer cells and slows their spread in the body.

Lortinib 100mg is a targeted therapy. Lortinib is classified as a epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitor – protein-tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It works by helping to stop cancer cells from growing.

USES OF LORTINIB TABLETS:

Lortinib is used to treat non-small cell lung cancer or pancreatic cancer that has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic).

Lortinib is usually given after other cancer medicines have been tried without success.

Lortinib may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS:

It is best to be aware of certain side effects that occur because of Erlotinib consumption. Some minor side effects are dryness of the eyes, belching, loss of weight, heartburn, pain in the bones and joints, gas, pain in the stomach and appearance of pimples.

Some major side effects include rashes, tightness of the chest, pain in the lower back region and severe diarrhea.

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS MAY INCLUDE:

Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, mouth sores, dry skin, eye dryness/irritation, or unusual eyelash growth may occur. Changes in diet such as eating several small meals or limiting activity may help lessen the chance of nausea. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Tell your doctor right away if any of these rare but very serious side effects occur: signs of kidney problems (such as change in the amount of urine), black stools, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, easy bleeding/bruising, stomach/abdominal pain, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, unusual fatigue, signs of infection (e.g., fever, chills, persistent sore throat), eye pain, vision changes.

DRUGS PRECAUTIONS:

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Lortinib 100 mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

Lortinib 100mg Tablet is an anti-cancer medication. It works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps to stop or slow the spread of cancer cells.

DRUGS INTERACTIONS:

Erlotinib tablets should be taken either 1 hour before or 2 hours after ingestion of food.

Erlotinib is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Stop smoking and use effective contraceptive measures while on erlotinib treatment.

Do not start erlotinib if you use contact lenses, have had eye problems (ulcers in front part of eye, dry eyes, inflammation in front part of eye), liver or kidney problems, Gilbert’s syndrome (liver disorder that causes increased bilirubin), intolerance to some sugars, are pregnant or breast-feeding.

Tell your doctor if you suffer from breathing difficulty associated with fever or cough, severe diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting, severe blistering or peeling of skin, severe pain in abdomen, acute or increasing pain and redness in eye, blurred vision or sensitivity to light, increased eye watering.
