ABOUT TYROGEF

Tyrogef is a type of drug called a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), also known as a cancer growth inhibitor. Kinases are proteins in the body that regulate how the cells grow and divide. Tyrogef blocks (inhibits) the protein from sending signals to the cancer cells that make them grow and divide.

TYROGEF USES

Tyrogef is used to treat some people with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). It only works for cancers that have an abnormal form of a protein called epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). Tests are done on the cancer cells from a lung biopsy or previous surgery to check the level of EGFR.

TYROGEF SIDE EFFECTS :

Acne; diarrhea; dry skin; loss of appetite; mouth ulcers; nausea; unusual weakness; vision problems; vomiting; weight loss.

Seek medical attention right away if any of these severe side effects occur:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the eyelids, mouth, face, lips, or tongue); cough; dark urine; dizziness; eye irritation or pain; extreme fatigue; fever; persistent diarrhea; stomach pain; swelling of the ankles or feet; yellowing of the skin or eyes.

TYROGEF PRECAUTIONS:

    Before taking this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
    Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: lung disease (e.g., pulmonary fibrosis), severe kidney disease, eye problems, stomach/intestinal ulcers, other stomach/intestinal problems (such as diverticulitis, blockage, bowel disease), smoking, cancer that has spread to the bowels.
    Gefitinib is not recommended for use during pregnancy. It may cause harm to an unborn baby. Consult your doctor for more details.
    It is not known whether this drug passes into breast milk. Due to the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using gefitinib is not recommended.

PROPER STORAGE OF TYROGEF :

Store Tyrogef at 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Gefitinib out of the reach of children and away from pets.

TYROGEF INTERACTIONS :

    Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription products you may use, especially of: “blood thinners” (warfarin), drugs which reduce stomach acid (e.g., ranitidine, cimetidine, famotidine, omeprazole, lansoprazole, rabeprazole), certain liver enzyme inhibitors (CYP 3A4 inhibitors such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, erythromycin, clarithromycin), vinorelbine, NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen, naproxen), corticosteroids (such as prednisone).
    Some liver enzyme inducer medications such as rifamycins (e.g., rifampin, rifabutin), St. John’s wort or phenytoin will stimulate certain liver enzymes (CYP 3A4). Your dosage of gefitinib may need to be increased if you are using such medications. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

ABOUT VALCIVIR

Valcivir 500 mg Tablet
falls under a category of drugs known as antiviral. This medication is used to
treat infections such as genital herpes, cold sores in children at
least 12 years of age and shingles in adults. It also treats chickenpox in children who
are 2 years of age.

MEDICINE USES:

Valcivir 500 mg Tablet is used in the
treatment of herpes
labialis, genital herpes infection and herpes zoster.

On using this medication you may experience side
effects such as headache, stomach
pain, dizziness, drowsiness, hallucinations, mental and mood disorders such
as agitation, seizures, skin rash, difficulty with speech, kidney disorders and
nausea. Seek medical help on experiencing any reaction. Discontinue usage if
you have fever, weakness, skin paleness, bloody diarrhoea,
swelling of body parts and abnormal bleeding.

VALCIVIR COMMON SIDE EFFECT:

In addition
to its intended effect, Valcivir 500 mg Tablet may cause some unwanted effects
too. In such cases, you must seek medical attention immediately. This is not an
exhaustive list of side effects. Please inform your doctor if you experience
any adverse reaction to the medication.

Headache,Nausea,Vomiting,Rash,Dizziness,Diarrhoea,Itching,Photosensitivity.

Kidney failure and nervous
system problems are not common but can be serious in some patients taking this
medicine. Nervous system problems include: aggressive behavior, unsteady
movement, shaky movements, confusion, speech problems, hallucinations (seeing
or hearing things that are really not there), seizures, and coma. Kidney
failure and nervous system problems have happened in patients who already have
kidney disease and in elderly patients whose kidneys do not work well due to
age. Always tell your healthcare provider if you have kidney problems before
taking this medicine. Call your doctor right away if you get a nervous system
problem while you are taking this medicine.

The most common side effect seen in
children 18 years of age is headache.
These are not all the side effects of this medicine. Talk to your healthcare
provider if you develop any side effects that concern you. For more information
ask your healthcare provider.

VALCIVIR TABLETS- PRECAUTIONS:

Before
using this medication tell your doctor if; you are allergic to any ingredient
contained within Valcivir 500 mg Tablet, you are allergic to any food or
medicine or substance, you are taking any medications, you have kidney
disorders, you have HIV or weak immune system, you are pregnant or
are nursing a baby.

The
dosage is fixed by the doctor taking into consideration your previous medical
records and the current condition. The usual dose in adults for treating herpes
simplex labialis is 2 g orally every 12 hours in doses of 2.

Always take the complete
course of treatment, as advised by your doctor even if you feel better.

Drink plenty of water while
on treatment with Valcivir. This helps to prevent kidney stone and kidney
damage.

Inform your doctor if you
have ever been diagnosed with kidney or liver problems. A dose of your medicine
may need to be adjusted.

You should not have sex if
you have genital sores or blisters. If you’re taking Valcivir for herpes, you
should use barrier methods (condoms) when you’re having sex since you can still
pass it on to other people, even if you’re taking the medication.

Inform your doctor if you
are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding.
