WHAT IS TENOF EM ?

Tenof
Em Tablet is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI), which is used
for treating HIV infection.
This drug filters out the HIV from the blood, it does not cure the disease but
is helpful in preventing AIDS. It comes as a capsule, a tablet, and a solution.

MEDICINE USES:

Tenof Em Tablet is used for HIV, Hepatitis b virus and other conditions. Tenof Em Tablet may also be
used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Tenof Em Tablet contains Emtricitabine and Tenofovir as active ingredients.

Tenof Em Tablet works by blocking the activity of a viral
enzyme; lowering the growth and decreasing the amount of HIV virus in the body.

TENOF EM COMMON SIDE EFFECTS:

Common
side effects of this medicine include dizziness, Abdominal or stomach pain,
nausea, diarrhea, headache. It may also lead to some other serious side effects
such as fever, chills, pain
during urination, fatigue, chest pain chest pain, skin discoloration, trouble falling asleep, numbness, burning, or tingling in the hands, arms, feet, or legs, rash, itching , depression, muscle stiffness. Seek immediate
medical attention in case you notice any serious side effects or if any mild
side effect stays long.

TENOF EM- PRECAUTIONS:

Before using Tenof Em Tablet,
inform your doctor about your current list of medications, over the counter
products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing
diseases, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery,
etc.). Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects
of the drug. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on
the product insert. Dosage is based on your condition. Tell your doctor if your
condition persists or worsens. Important counseling points are listed below:

Do not
take tenofovir with other drugs that can potentially damage kidneys

same time, the effects of Tenof Em Tablet may change.
This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work

VALTEN 

Valten 300mg is an antiviral drug belonging to class nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). Its structure closely resembles the natural structure of viral DNA, that helps it to incorporate itself into the viral DNA. By doing so, it blocks the activity of an important viral enzyme reverse transcriptase which is involved in the replication of viral DNA, a process essential for survival of the virus.

MEDICINE USES :

Tenofovir is used to treat HIV, the virus that can cause acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). It is not a cure for HIV or AIDS. It is also used to treat chronic hepatitis B.

TENOFOVIR SIDE EFFECTS :

Call your doctor at once if you have:

    sore throat, flu symptoms, easy bruising or unusual bleeding;
    kidney problems–little or no urination, painful or difficult urination, swelling in your feet or ankles, feeling tired or short of breath; or
    liver problems–nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, tiredness, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice.

Tenofovir may increase your risk of certain infections or autoimmune disorders by changing the way your immune system works. Symptoms may occur weeks or months after you start treatment with tenofovir. Tell your doctor if you have:

    signs of a new infection–fever, night sweats, swollen glands, mouth sores, diarrhea, stomach pain, weight loss;
    chest pain (especially when you breathe), dry cough, wheezing, feeling short of breath;
    rapid heart rate, feeling anxious or irritable, weakness or prickly feeling, problems with balance or eye movement;

 VALTEN TENOFOVIR TABLETS PRECAUTIONS:

·        
If you have HIV infection, you should be tested
for HBV infection before you start to take Valten. If you have HBV infection,
you should be tested for HIV infection before you start to take this medicine.

·        
Keep a list of all the medicines that you take.
Make a new list each time medicines are added or stopped. Find out about
medicines that should not be taken while you are using Valten. Be sure that
each of your health care providers knows all the medicines that you are taking.

·        
Valten does not stop the spread of HIV or HBV to
others through blood or sexual contact.
Tell your doctor or dentist that you take tenofovir before
you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.

·        
Lab tests, including liver and kidney function
and bone mineral density, may be performed while you use Tenofovir. These tests
may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to
keep all doctor and lab appointments.

·        
PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become
pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks
of using Tenofovir while you are pregnant. It is not known if this medicine is
found in breast milk. Mothers infected with HIV should not breast-feed. There is
a risk of passing the HIV infection or Tenofovir to the baby. Do not
breast-feed while taking this medicine.

DRUG INTERACTIONS :

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Valten. Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

    Acyclovir, cidofovir, ganciclovir, valacyclovir, valganciclovir, or other medicines that may harm the kidneys (eg, aminoglycoside antibiotics [eg, gentamicin], amphotericin B, cyclosporine, NSAIDs [eg, ibuprofen], tacrolimus, vancomycin) because they may increase the risk of Valten’s side effects.
    Adefovir, lopinavir/ritonavir or other HIV protease inhibitors (eg, atazanavir), or medicines that contain Tenofovir because they may increase the risk of its side effects
    Didanosine because the risk of its side effects may be increased by tenofovir
