Ivosidenib, sold under the brand name Tibsovo, is an anti-cancer medication for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and cholangiocarcinoma. It is a small molecule inhibitor of isocitrate dehydrogenase-1 (IDH1), which is mutated in several forms of cancer.
What is Tibsovo 250mg Tablet Used for?
Tibsovo is a prescription medicine used to treat: acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with an isocitrate dehydrogenase-1 (IDH1) mutation in adults with newly diagnosed AML who are 75 years or older or who have health problems that prevent the use of certain chemotherapy treatments.
What are the Side-Effects of a Generic Tibsovo Tablet?
Tibsovo 250mg Tablet is used to treat a certain type of blood cell cancer (acute myeloid leukemia-AML). Ivosidenib works by helping your bone marrow grow normal blood cells so you will need fewer blood transfusions.
How long does it take for Tibsovo 250mg Tablet to work?
In people with newly diagnosed AML who had a response to Tibsovo, the response occurred within 6 months. In half of the people who had a response, it occurred by 2.8 months. In people with relapsed or refractory AML* who had a response to Tibsovo, the response occurred within 6 months.
Warnings and Precautions:
Patients with therapy Ivosidenib 250mg Tablet should be monitored for electrolytes and electrocardiograms (ECGs). Monitor patients taking Ivosidenib 250mg for the onset of new signs/symptoms of motor and sensory neuropathy.
The use of Tibsovo 250mg may cause fertility complications in females and males, which may affect their ability to have children.
Nursing women are advised not to breastfeed while on Ivosidenib dosage and for at least 1 month following the last dose.
The use of Tibsovo tablets could be responsible for causing harm to the fetus. Patients are advised to avoid conceiving a baby while on treatment with it.
Blood tests of respective patients should be done prior to initiating and during treatment with Tibsovo 250 mg.
How is Tibsovo (Ivosidenib) taken?
The recommended dosage of Tibsovo (Ivosidenib) is:
500mg taken orally, once daily with or without food, until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity.
For patients without disease progression or unacceptable toxicity, treat for a minimum of 6 months to allow time for clinical response.
Please note: take Tibsovo (Ivosidenib) tablets orally at about the same time each day. Do not administer Tibsovo (Ivosidenib) with a high-fat meal because of an increase in Ivosidenib concentration. Do not split or crush Tibsovo (Ivosidenib) tablets.
